prune picker
This is the blog of a prune picker. (Native born Californian) Retired oilfield. I am an old man. I blog a lot about my body and getting old. As I approach death life gets more interesting. More interesting is not good. I still drive. I attend sports, music, and civic events. I am writing my memoirs. I attend swim class three times a week. Some of my blogs might be interesting. A lot of my blogs are silly and trivial. None are very long.

Sunday lunch at the Spruce Goose.
The Spruce Goose Cafe is located at the Jefferson County International Airport. A favorite place to eat for Jackie and I since 1990.
Four food friends had lunch there today. Kathy and Herm Schilling and Irene Greening and the Old Prunepicker. It is great that Irene came. She paid the bill.

Beverly Smith, an old friend!
I have known Beverly for 25 years. She and her husband Pat used to run the Chimacum Service Station. For years I would walk to the Chimacum Convenience Store (1 3/4 miles), buy some coffee and drink it while visiting with Smiths. Pat would regale me with stories of his wrecker business years. At one time Jackie and Pat were in the same hospital at the same time. Pat and Jackie later passed away on the same day. Saint Patricks Day 2007. Ten years ago this year.

From Woodinville to Chimacum.
I rode the Edmunds/Kingston Ferry today
This group. Matt, Winter, Janelle, and Holly Wrock drove me to the ferry. They gave me cookies, bought my ferry ticket, and Matt pulled my luggage to the boat. There was a long walk on ramp. You can just make out the ferry at the end of the peir.

Last night in Woodinville.
I am used to it here now and I hate to leave! Have to move on. The Wrocks will drive me to the Edmunds/Kingston Ferry tomorrow and then five days in Chimacum. I had a lovely time in Woodinville. Thanks to the Wrocks. I love them!

I took a tour of the world's largest building today.
Boeing makes big airplanes in it. It has a floor space of 98 acres. You could put California's Disneyland in it and have 12 acres left over for parking. 35000 workers work 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Many cafeterias and coffee stops.
Here is a pic of the typical airplane made in the building.
It would take a big building to put that thing together, huh? Here is an aerial photo of the building.

The tour bus loads, at a visitor center, a few miles from the building and Boeing did not allow cameras or cell phones. I took the following picture out the car window from the visitor center.
It was great tour. I got special treatment because I had a cane.
